Joan Dunkle is an accomplished painter, demonstrator, instructor, and juror for over fifty years. Honored by "Who's Who in American Art" and "Who's Who in the East", her paintings have won numerous awards and her work has been sought after by art collectors nationally. She has been published in a number of publications.

Joan is noted for her specialized unique "custom" commissioned  paintings using the clients memorabiliaand  based on the clients specific colors.  These paintings creat an unusual personal focal point in a room. She states that the work must stand as a painting first and then the surprise elements of memorabilia are seen on closer examination.

"The art of Joan Osborn-Dunkle is intuitive and concerned with the magic of transformation.  The artist is never shy about asking "What if" in her work and the results are held in suspension until the viewer exclaims "Aha!".

"Joan Osborn-Dunkle's paintings and sculptures of found objects create a connection between the material world and the artist's personal experiences.  Always evident in her work is the element of mystery.  Like a good book, Joan's paintings encourage the viewer to explore and decipher the meaning of the work and to participate in the creative process by being the end spectator that completes the work.

Using the entire arsenal of painterly ammunitation, Osborn-Dunkle fills the canvas with a sense of movement and flux to build her paintings and sculptures alike.  Never limiting, the artwork of this exceptional artist is an exploration in the two and three dimensional nature of surfaces"
